Pitot House Event Policies
Event Rental fees include a 4-hour timeframe and an additional post-event hour for clean-up. We provide one security guard and a house liaison during your event.
Rental includes the meadow, back patio & loggia, a small kitchen area, parterre and sauvage gardens.
Two restrooms on the property can accommodate 100 guests.
For an additional fee, parking may be available next door at Cabrini High School.
To confirm your date, a 50% deposit and a contract signed by the renter and the Pitot House is required.
We typically only book ONE event per weekend.
There is NO smoking at The Pitot House or on the grounds.
Events must end at 10 pm and all amplified music must stop.
We encourage you to email events@louisianalandmarks.org with any questions or concerns. The contract is not valid until it is signed by the renter and an authorized Pitot House representative and the deposit is received.

WHERE CAN I FIND A CONTRACT?

DO WE NEED A TENT?
Most renters secure a tent through a vendor. We are not responsible for any weather-related events and strongly recommend that you consider having a tent.
IS THERE A CERTAIN TIME OUR EVENT NEEDS TO END?
We love our neighbors and in accordance with the City of New Orleans noise ordinances, all amplified music must end at 10 p.m. Please plan your event accordingly.
DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE OUR OWN VENDORS?
Yes, the Pitot House rental only includes the site, security, and house liaison.
CAN WE HAVE OUR CEREMONY ON THE MAGNOLIA BRIDGE?
The Magnolia Bridge is the property of the City of New Orleans. In order to have a ceremony on the bridge, you must contact the city permit office which can be done online.
HOW DO I RESERVE THE PITOT HOUSE FOR AN EVENT?
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the rental fee is required to reserve the Pitot House.
CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL HOURS TO MY EVENT?
Additional hours can be added to the four-hour time for the non-prorated charge of $750 per hour.
IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?
On-street parking is usually available during rental use. Parking for seventy vehicles can often be secured at Cabrini High School adjacent to the Pitot House.
CAN WE USE CONFETTI OR BIRDSEED?
Confetti, birdseed, and rice may not be thrown inside the house or on the grounds.
CAN WE USE CANDLES OR SPARKLERS?
The use of candles, fire, sparklers, fireworks or open flames of any sort is not permitted anywhere in the house or on the property.
CAN WE USE STERNO FOR OUR FOOD?
No open flames are allowed. Sterno cannot be used in the house or under the gallery. Electric warmers are allowed.
